Have you discovered the awesomeness that are blog lists yet, no? Well here’s 5 reasons why blog lists are useful.

1. They require less writing time

Think of your shopping lists – they’ve never turned into novels have they? They shouldn’t do…

2.They are quick to read for your audience

Online readers have short attention spans so lists are the solution.

3. Less content means more writing material for future blog posts

Blog block? Lists don’t require much information so you can expand in greater detail in future blog posts.

4. You can mind map more of them at one given time

With blogs lists, I recommend mind mapping the structure out to ensure it ticks all of the right boxes. However list blogs don’t need this so you can throw as many lists together much quicker!

5. Even blog lists can be varied

There are different types of blog lists:  brief lists i.e. bullet points, detailed lists i.e. like this post and hybrid lists which are a combination of the two.

To conclude…

Essentially, blog lists are used to vary and shorten content up to keep it varied. I wouldn’t recommend having an entire blog full of lists because there’s a lot of use for other types of  posts  which I’ll tell you more about this month.

Activity: Aim to post a list based post once a month (or more if you’ve a spare 15 minutes).

What a great idea, Chelsea. I think you can find a few posts on my blog that are kind of blog lists. Though I tend to write quit a lot inbetween 😉
    Thanks for sharing!

      Hi Xarah!

Yes, they’re hybrid lists I guess you could call them. There’s no right or wrong way of doing them – Keep up the good work. 🙂
